Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for coverage, each traveller must, at the date of application and the effective date:
• be a resident of Canada and covered under a government health insurance plan for the entire duration of your trip;
• be at least thirty (30) days of age but less than seventy-five (75) years of age;
• not have been advised by a physician to avoid travel at this time;
• not have a terminal illness for which a physician has estimated you have less than six (6) months to live;
• not have metastatic cancer (cancer that has spread from the original site to another place in your body);
• not require kidney dialysis;
• not have been prescribed or used home oxygen in the last twelve (12) months;
• never have had bone marrow, stem cell or organ transplant (except corneal transplant);
• declare pre-existing condition as defined in the policy.

Type of cover

Single Trip coverage is provided for one trip outside your province or territory of residence for the number of days purchased.

Annual Multi Trip coverage is provided for an unlimited number of trips taken within one (1) year of the effective date for the trip length.

Trip Cost

Trip cost includes the average per insured person non-refundable, pre-paid expenses already submitted towards the trip including transportation, accommodation, package tours, etc. This does not include estimated or anticipated costs that have not yet been paid, deposits (unless non-refundable), or trips purchased by the redemption of points or miles programs. If there is no trip cost or you do not require a trip cancellation or all inclusive plan, please enter 0.

Maximum Covered Days Per Trip

A Multi-Trip plan that provides coverage for all your trips in the year following the effective date that are up to the maximum number of days you selected (4, 8, 15 or 30 days). If you purchase a Multi-Trip plan, you will be able to purchase top up coverage if one of your trips exceeds the maximum number of days you selected.

Family: Coverage for you and your spouse and your dependent children travelling with you or your spouse.

Spouse is the person who is legally married to you or the person who has been living with you for a continuous period of at least 1 year and is publicly represented as your domestic partner.

Travel companion is someone who accompanies you on your trip and shares pre-paid travel, accommodation or transportation arrangements with you, up to a maximum of 2 persons.

Dependent children are your unmarried natural, adopted or step-children who are dependent on you for maintenance and support, or your grandchildren, who:
• are travelling with you or joining you during your trip,
• are at least 30 days of age, and
• are under 21 years of age (25 if in full-time education in Canada). Children 21 years of age or over who are permanently mentally or physically challenged and incapable of self-support are covered
